Multi #5
I was vacationing in the Midwest from May 8 - May 18. I was busy before the trip working on getting as much done for my clients as I could. It looks like I didn't get in a workout on Tuesday or Wednesday. I did drop off my bikes for a tune up on Monday and retrieved them on Wednesday.

I ran for about 90 minutes, with a bathroom break right around 30 minutes. I'm sure glad that I was able to get that break in; it made a huge difference in my ability to enjoy the workout. I ran at a super easy pace (no HR monitor, cadence of 90) and just went throughout the neighborhood.
I'm still not hitting that bliss-like state I have had while running in previous years, but I enjoyed the workout well enough.

Things just didn't work out (no pun intended) for me to do my workout today. I needed to replace the tires on my bike and that really threw things off. I still don't have the bike in riding shape; I couldn't get the tires mounted and still be able to fill the inner tubes.
Anyway, I was feeling pretty exhausted in the afternoon anyway. So, it's probably not such a bad thing that I did not end up going for a ride.
I think that I'm seeing that this whole IM Quest is going to be more time consuming (calendar-wise) and gradual than I had anticipated.

I definitely did not complete this in 30 minutes. I guess I'll have to come up with another workout.
I swam 2500 yards at 1.30 seconds per stroke:
- 25X100 swim
I stopped just enough in between each 100 to slide the counter over. I really enjoyed the workout and would have been happy to swim quite a few more 100's.

I rode the bike for 60 minutes maintaining around 90rpm / 80 Watts / 15 mph and a heart rate of 116 bpm. My total mileage ended up being 15.22 miles.

Since I need new tires on my bike, I went to the fitness center to ride the stationary bike and run on the track. I rode 30 minutes on a manual program and kept the pace around 15 mph / 80 Watts / 90 rpm and a heart rate around 120bpm. I ran 15 minutes on the track at a cadence of 90.
I must say that it was pretty boring having to workout indoors now that I've been doing my exercise outdoors. But, I did put together a nice easy workout that didn't leave me exhausted.

I swam 2000 yards easy at 1.30 seconds per stroke:
- 4X100 yard warmup
- 4X100 yard 25 catchup / 25 swim
- 4X100 yard 25 fingertip / 25 swim
- 4X100 yard 25 fist / 25 swim
- 4X100 yard cool down
I ran for 45 minutes at a cadence of 90.
PS: I felt so tired after the workout and was exhausted the rest of the day, too. Even with decreasing the intensity it seems like I may be pushing myself too hard. I may have to adjust the amount of time as well.

I ran for 90 minutes. The weather was somewhat grey, windy and chilly. I could have dressed a bit warmer.
I'm still not feeling the meditative state I used to get when I went for a run. Even though I have brought down the intensity, it's still an effort for me to complete the run.

The magnet on the crank had come off because the plastic strap holding in place broke. So, I used clear packing tape to put it in place. I had already used a strip of clear tape to prevent the magnet from sliding down the crank. It's not as bad as some duct-tape fix-er-up jobs, but it's not exactly invisible either.
I rode for about two hours and fifteen minutes. The weather was great.
I got a flat when I was about ten minutes from home. I need to replace the tires.

This was more like a 60 minute swim workout. I did an easy 2000 yards at 1.3 seconds per stroke:
- 4X100 yards warmup
- 4X100 yards 25 fingertip / 25 swim
- 4X100 yards 25 fist / 25 swim
- 4X100 yards 25 one arm / 25 swim
- 4X100 yards cool down
This was really enjoyable and if it weren't for the time factor I would have been happy to repeat the 2000 yards.
