Zone 1 - Zone 2 Run

[Sunday, August 17, 2014]

This was my twelfth workout in my IM Journey. I ran for about 70 minutes. Even though I kept the level of effort extremely low, I think that the workout was challenging enough that I should stick with the same workouts next week; it's still too soon to increase the volume by 10%.

Road Ride Zone 2

[Saturday, August 16, 2014]

This was my eleventh workout in my IM Journey. I was not wearing a HR monitor, so I don't really know what Zone I was riding in. But, it was my intention to keep it in Zone 1. I intended to ride for one hour and 46 minutes. I ended up riding about two hours and six minutes. Since I had ridden West to find the trail that runs along C470 I had to deal with a fair amount of hilliness. I spent a large amount of the workout riding in the lowest gear on my bike.

Tempo Trainer Swim

[Friday, August 15, 2014]

This was my tenth workout in my IM journey. I'm not sure how long I should keep on counting. I don't know if I should keep counting until I miss a workout or if I should count until 30 workouts or some other measure. Maybe I should keep counting all the way up to IM Boulder. I just think that it may be too boring reading the same intro paragraph.

Anyway, I swam for about 20 minutes. It's pretty much the same story: I kept it nice and easy and I'm glad that's what I'm doing right now.

Sprint Tri Workout

[Thursday, August 14, 2014]

This was my ninth workout in my IM Journey. I played the Chase the Dragon game for the bike workout. While it was reasonably fun, I don't think I should do that program again; I don't think I maintained the correct cadence. But, it's okay just for variety's sake once in a while I suppose. I did a super easy run workout.

I think that I've definitely dialed in the intensity level much better. This should be much more sustainable for me.

Sprint Tri Workout

[Wednesday, August 13, 2014]

This was my eighth workout in my IM journey. I kept the workout nice and easy again. I can feel that it is much better for me right now that I have finally backed down the intensity sufficiently.

Zone 1 - Zone 2 Run

[Sunday, August 10, 2014]

This was my sixth workout in my IM journey. I ran for about 70 minutes as easy as I could make it. I can say that I am not ready to increase my volume by 10% next week. I am going to keep the same six workouts next week as I did this week. I will also make sure to really back down my effort on the bike leg. I was feeling sore and tired before I started the workout today. I was also feeling like I had a little bit of a cold starting this morning.

Road Ride Zone 2

[Saturday, August 9, 2014]

This was my fifth workout in my IM journey. I had planned to ride for one hour and 46 minutes, but ended up riding one hour and 56 minutes.

I made sure to keep it a really easy ride, using the lowest gear as much as I needed to. My average pace ended up being 13.2 mph.

[Friday, August 8, 2014]

This was my fourth workout in my IM journey. I swam for about 20 minutes at 1.30 seconds per stroke. The outdoor pool is still open and I am taking advantage of the opportunity to use it; it's great to swim outdoors in the sunshine.

Sprint Tri Workout

[Thursday, August 7, 2014]

Today was my third workout in my IM journey and the third workout with a 5 minute swim, 26.5 minute bike and 17.5 minute run. I still pushed more that I should on the bike. I rode the Expresso Speedway course.

Tomorrow is my long swim. Saturday is my long bike. So, I'll get some rest tomorrow and I'll make sure that on Saturday I take an easy ride.
