Zone 1 - Zone 2 Run
I ran with Lana for 30 minutes and then continued running by myself for about 45 minutes. I felt comfortable through the whole workout and would have been willing to run for longer. Since I had already ridden about two hours yesterday, I feel comfortable moving up my workout time. I won't do the full Week 10 program, though. I will leave the Tuesday run at 30 minutes, but will increase the Sunday run to 90 minutes. I will plan to once again do the Saturday ride at two hours. However, next Saturday is going to be somewhat busy for me. So, I'll have to see if I end up having enough time.

I rode for about two hours. This workout was a lot of fun. I pulled part of one of the rides that I retrieved online. I missed a couple of turns and ended up not connecting with the Bear Creek Trail on the way back. But, the route ended up being perfectly fine for the most part. The total miles were just shy of twenty nine.

I have to say that I am feeling frustrated. I decided to time my splits today to see how things are progressing. It does not appear that they are progressing at all. It seems like I am swimming at essentially the exact same speed as I have been swimming at for about forever. I am just beside myself coming up with any explanation of how I can have spent almost a full year of practicing swimming and having changed so many things, including most recently decreasing my seconds per stroke, and still be swimming at the exact same pace.
SIGH . . .

I left earlier and rode up Jewell to Alameda so that I could add the extra distance before I picked up Eli. Then I just came straight home with Eli in the chariot. I continue to enjoy doing my Thursday ride in this fashion.

I had a lot of fun riding for about 30 minutes. It's sunny and warm and I enjoyed being outside.
I enjoyed running for 15 minutes as well. It's surprising that I would feel better today than yesterday, but that's the way it was.

There was a swim team using the 25 yard lanes so I had to use the 17.5 yard lanes. I have to say that I felt out of rhythm the whole time. I swam for 30 minutes.
I ran for about 30 minutes. It felt okay by not great. I expected it to feel good after having my rest day.

I was looking forward to doing this workout. I wasn't feeling tired from the previous workouts in the week. I did start to feel tired pretty early in the workout, though. But, it was still an enjoyable workout. I think that it makes sense for me to spend one more week doing the same workout routine. I'd like to see if I can make it all the way through the end of the long run still feeling strong and relaxed.

I rode Jewell into Rooney into the Golden Trail. By the time I got to 19th Street it was time for me to start heading back. So, I rode into 32nd all the way across to Kipling and then came back south.
I rode for about one hour and forty five minutes. This was a really enjoyable ride in beautiful weather. I look forward to the day that I will be able to do the Lookout Mountain climb as part of this ride.

Before I left for the workout I checked the tempo trainer and verified that it was set to about 1.25 seconds per stroke. I swam 4 X 100m and increased the stroke rate .01 after each one. Checking the tempo now, I see that it is around 1.22 seconds per stroke. I think this is a good rate for me to use for a while. I think I'm starting to reach the limit of where I maintain whatever technique I have. I'm not feeling too tired, but I am feeling that I'm approaching slipping too much water.

I rode my bike to pick up Eli. I added distance on the way there and on the way back to aim for about 45 minutes of riding time. Even though it was pretty cold and rainy, it was still fun to get my workout this way.
