I had a great workout.

I planned to do 12 X 25; 6 X 50; 4 X 75; 3 X 100; I got to fitness center too close to when the swim team started practice and had to finish the last 3 75's and the 3 100's in the short lanes. So, I had to estimate how many laps to do.

I ran for 45 minutes. It was somewhere in the mid 50's. I was perfectly comfortable running in a t-shirt and the jammers.

Zone 1 - Zone 2 Run

I ran with Lana for about 35 minutes and then I finished the rest of the 90 minute run. It was around 50 degrees when we started running and that was very comfortable. It warmed up considerably during the course of the run, and while somewhat warm by the end it was still comfortable enough and a beautiful day.

It was hard for me to plan what route to run after leaving Lana, so I ended up hitting the finish time pretty much just as I was reaching the top of the Old Kipling road climb. I walked home the rest of the way. But, it was kind of fun wrapping up the workout with the cilmb.

Road Ride Zone 2

My legs felt very tired when I started the ride and I was concerned about how the ride was going to go and whether it was a good choice to do the Rooney Road / Golden route. When I reached Jewell / Alameda I looked at the time and saw that I made it there in a pretty typical (maybe faster?) time. The Rooney Road stretch wasn't any more challenging than normal, either. I made it to 19th Street in good time (or maybe a bit faster?) and continued up the trail, aiming for 32nd street. Well, the trail does not connect with 32nd. read more ...

Some things have to take priority

I had gotten up very early in the morning. I got to work on a task for a customer which took me a good part of the day. Then I wanted to take care of another task for another customer. Tonight Lana and I had a date night that started at 4PM. So, I made the decision that I was going to forgo the swim workout.

I give thanks to the Universe for the abundance it provides me. I surrender and am open and ready to receive.

Road Ride Zone 2

I left the house around 5PM to pick up Eli, but for some reason I was not sure about taking the longer route to his school. So, I rode directly to his school and it took me about 20 minutes. I came home a long way and it worked out probably just about perfectly.

I think that the 20 minute trip to Eli's school is faster than I was doing it previously.

The sun was starting to set so it was a little bit cool in my t-shirt, but still quite comfortable. I still really enjoy getting in a workout this way.

I had a great workout today. I rode my fastest average pace on the bike and I covered the most distance on the run. Having said that, I think it might make sense for me to start wearing my HR monitor again to make sure that I'm not pushing myself out of the prescribed zone.

I rode about 30 minutes on the bike and then ran for 15 minutes.

I really didn't feel like going to the workout. It was not so much a factor of whether I wanted to do the workout as much as being frustrated with myself for having gotten up around 4:15 AM and still not having gotten much done by 12:30 PM. But, I decided that skipping the workout would make things worse rather than better.

I wanted to do something different for my swim workout, so I did 4 sets of 2 X 25; 1 X 50; 2 X 75; 1 X 100. Then I ran for 45 minutes.

I did feel glad that I had at least completed my workout today.

Road Ride Zone 2

I rode my bike to do an errand this morning. Then I did my workout. I ended up riding for about two hours and fifteen minutes. The temperature was somewhat crisp and cool this morning, although I think it was around 60 when I headed out for the workout. I wore tights over the cycling shorts and a long sleeve wicking t-shirt over the cycling jersey. This was quite comfortable.

Tempo Trainer Swim

I got to the pool too close to when the swim team was going to be practicing so I swam in the short lanes. I think the short lanes are 50 foot or something like 17 yards. I swam 20 X ~68.
