Multi #6 (Brick)
I rode for about 30 minutes in a somewhat unplanned route. The time passed quickly, making for an enjoyable ride. Then I ran for about 15 minutes. I went to Kendrick Lake and around the Xeric garden (and back home). It would be fun to have a large garden / arboretum area to use as a jogging path.

Zone 1 - Zone 2 Run
I ran for about 75 minutes. It was pretty sunny and hot. This was a hard workout even though I'm still keeping a slow pace. I know that the swim workout on Friday was hard and so was yesterday's bike workout. So, I'm sure that I was still tired from those efforts. I'll be following the same workout schedule again next week. This coming week is the week that Carmody is closed for maintenance; it was not last week. I'll need to do my swim workouts at Green Mountain, which is a 25m pool.

I headed west on Jewell into Alameda and up and over Dinosaur Ridge. I made my way to Heritage Square and onto the trail that runs along Highway 6. I made my way back by taking Rooney Road. So, I have found my way that I can connect with a set of trails that will get me to 19th Street and Lookout Mountain.
This was a hard but enjoyable ride and the weather was great. I think it was probably in the low 70's.

I had read a blog post and watched a video and concluded that I really needed to increase my stroke rate. So, for this workout I decreased the seconds per stroke by .03 seconds. I swam 16 X 100. I can say that I definitely felt more tired getting out of the pool than I did on Tuesday. But, I think that part of the reason is that I not only increased my stroke rate, I also increased the effort I put into the catch and pull for at least part of the workout. read more ...

I rode to pick Eli up from school and I added more distance on the way home. I enjoy getting in my workout this way, even if I'm not certain of the exact amount of time I rode.

This was a quick transition workout. I rode for about thirty minutes on the bike and then ran for about fifteen minutes.
It was pretty hot during the workout and I definitely felt it during the run. But, the workout was good overall.

I ran for about 70 minutes. The weather is beautiful today. It's sunny and warm, but not too hot.
The workout was still challenging enough that I will stick with the same routine next week. I think that Carmody is going to be closed for maintenance, so I'll have to head over to Green Mountain, though.

I rode for about one hour and fifty four minutes. I took Garrison up to 20th and then took 20th across into Golden. I ended up on 32nd and eventually 19th street. I rode for a while on the trail that runs along highway 93. I'd like to do this ride again and take the left at the fork on the path along the highway instead of a right to see where that takes me and whether it's a good connection to get to 19th street.
This was a fun ride for me and I'm glad that I have a good route to get to 19th street (and the Lookout Mountain ride).
