Masters Swim

Today's scheduled workout was a straight 2500 swim.

I don't know how much total I swam at the Masters workout. I did work all four strokes. The coach gave me some pointers on breast, fly and back. He complimented my on the crawl. Things are coming together little by little for me. I was able to begin to incorporate the suggestions right away and could feel the difference in effectiveness.

Stationary Bike #2

Today's scheduled workout was Bike 1:00 Z2 with a 7.5 minute pickup at 0:45.

The weather was not conducive to riding outside, so I headed to the fitness center to use the stationary bike. For the pickup I geared up two higher for 3 minutes and then backed down to just one higher for the next 4.5 minutes. Pushing even 150 Watts is pretty hard for me. I did my best to keep it somewhere around 200Watts for the first three minutes of the pickup. The next 4.5 was somewhere around 150. The rest of the workout was in the range of 90 - 100 Watts.

I was really beat today. This was the slowest bike and slowest run I have done for this workout.

Today's scheduled workout was a 2500 swim workout and Run 0:45 Z2 with a 7.5 minute pickup at 0:10.

I think I swam about 2000; I might have forgotten one of the sets that I did. Then I completed the run outside without a HR monitor.

Zone 1 - Zone 2 Run

Today's scheduled workout was Run 1:30 Z1 - Z2.

The weather is beautiful again today. It was in the low 50's when I headed out. I completed the workout without a HR monitor. The Kipling - Alameda - Jewell loop is just a bit too long for 90 minutes. But, I really like running that route.

My body is definitely feeling the increased workload. I did not feel light and/or fast. I had to just relax, hang in there and enjoy the workout. I'm glad I've got a rest day tomorrow!

Road Ride Zone 2

Today's scheduled workout was Bike 2:15 Z2.

I rode the downtown - cherry creek trail - yale - dartmouth loop without a HR monitor. It took me 2:20.

The weather was great and I enjoyed the ride, but I'm definitely getting a workout. This loop is not exactly hard, but it's not easy either. I've still got to develop a lot more strength

Masters Swim

Today's scheduled workout was  2500 swim workout.

I completed almost the entire Masters workout! Instead of 8 X 50 IM order, I had to do just 4 X 50 IM order. But, I had done a 200 warmup before the workout. So, I still ended up doing 2550 today. I feel a real sense of accomplishment having come so close to doing the entire workout. I think I'm making some progress.

Today's scheduled workout was Bike 0:30 Z2 (QC) Run 0:15 Z2.

I as ON it today. I don't know if this was my fastest bike split, but it had to be pretty close. I know that this was my fastest run split. I made it almost all the way back home. I wasn't wearing my HR monitor, so I don't know if I stayed in Z2 for the run. I'm pretty sure I was in Z2 for the bike.

Today's scheduled workout was a 2500 swim workout and Run 0:45 Z2 with a 7.5 minute pickup at 0:30.

I think I swam around 1800 or 1900.

I completed the run workout without a HR monitor. I think I was a bit slower than last week. But, that could be on account of being tired from the swim workout; I used my legs quite a bit.
