Road Ride Zone 2

I rode for about 2:20 and averaged 13.3.

I didn't know how long I was going to ride today. I just headed towards Morrison and then south along C470 and took it to wherever it went. I ended up coming back up Lowell. So, I just decided to finish up the ride coming back my usual way on the Bear Creek Trail into Garrison.

I feel like I had enough anyway. I got to bed too late last night and then I worked on Eli's jungle gym this morning.

Masters Swim

I think I swam 2450 today. One of the sets was 4X100 - 5 seconds rest; 3X100 - 10 seconds rest ; 2X100 - 15 seconds rest; 100, swimming at a faster pace / 100 on each group of 100. I did the 4/3/2 based on perceived effort, starting with a relaxed feel for the 4. On the 100 I timed myself to see what I could do with an essentially 100% effort and came in at about 1:50.

I feel good!

The program has the Half IM scheduled for this Sunday. But, my race isn't until two Saturdays from now. So, I'll be modifying the workouts over the next two weeks.

One of the sets in the Masters today was an 800 m timed swim. I took 17:34.

Then I ran 4 minutes / walked 1 minute for one hour.

Zone 1 - Zone 2 Run

Today's scheduled workout was Run 1:30 Z1 - Z2.

I did a run 4 / walk 1 combination for about 1:30.

I'm still tired and struggling through the workout. The program has a Half IM scheduled for next weekend, but mine is actually in two weekends. I think I'm going to do a lightened load of workouts for the next couple weeks and may continue to do modified workouts all the way through week 30. For the Half I will test an on / off strategy for the bike and run and see how that goes, as it's looking like that's what I'll need to do for the Full.

Masters Swim

I took a couple of days off since I was feeling exhausted and was also feeling a cold coming on. I was a little bit slow getting ready to leave the house and thought about just waiting until later to do the workout, figuring that it might be good for me to do my own easier workout anyway. But, then I remembered that it was the last Friday of the month and decided it wouldn't be a problem if I got to the pool a little late and modified the assigned workout.

Solo Swim

Today's scheduled workout was a 2500 swim workout and a 1:00 Run with a pickup.

I was still tired and sore yesterday and decided I needed to modify my workouts. So, today I did a one hour swim. I walked Zen for about 1/2 hour prior to the swim. Then I walked to and from the swim. I finished up with walking Zen for a bit more.

I am quite tired tonight. My body is reaching its limit.

I felt like I was struggling. So, I ran for one hour and then I alternated 1 minute walk / 4 minutes run for the next 45 minutes.
