Happy Thanksgiving!

[Thursday, November 27, 2014]

I don't know if the fitness center was open today. Regardless, I was up early in the morning doing lots of cooking while also helping Eli to keep himself occupied. I got Zen out for a walk during Eli's nap. Then once I got back from the walk, Eli got up shortly after that. So, I got Eli out for a bit of fresh air while Lana finished getting herself ready to go.

We had Thanksgiving with my in-laws. They just moved to Colorado on the 10th of this month.

My black bean soup, tofu spinach pie and pumpkin pie (from scratch including the pumpkin puree) all came out really yummy!

I landed an interview!

[Wednesday, November 26, 2014]

I've been having to balance working on my Kickstarter campaign with getting at least a little bit of client work done. So, I skipped my workouts yesterday and today. Fortunately, my efforts have paid off! I was the guest on Talking Drupal today. I think the interview went really well and I hope that it will help me to grow my supporter base.

I give thanks to the Universe for the abundance it provides me. I surrender and am open and ready to receive.

Zone 1 - Zone 2 Run

[Sunday, November 23, 2014]

I felt comfortable throughout the whole run today. I ran for 90 minutes.

It was kind of grey and chilly, but I was dressed for the weather. It's great to be able to exercise outdoors.

Road Ride Zone 2

[Saturday, November 22, 2014]

I rode the Lookout Mountain route again today. I was a little slower than the last time I did it. When I reached 19th and 93 I was at around 50:40. So, I think I was pretty close to on schedule. I didn't make it as far up the mountain as I did last time before I reached about 1:06:00.

The weather was pretty nice today. I felt a little too warm on the way out, but was glad that I had the extra layers on the way back.

Could this be the spark that ignites the flame?

[Saturday, November 22, 2014]

I was up at 4:30 this morning. When I signed in to my business email to check the status of things, I saw that the blog entry I had posted on Thursday (and which hit Planet Drupal that same day) had gotten a new comment. As it turns out there is a Drupal group that is working on the very same type of idea as my Kickstarter. read more ...

A new venture

[Friday, November 21, 2014]

I have been working hard since Wednesday to get my Kickstarter campaign off the ground. I knew that it would take time, but didn't know it would take this much time. I'm having to get up to speed on social media and spending a good deal of time working to get the word out.

Multi #5

[Tuesday, November 18, 2014]

I wasn't feeling too enthusiastic about going to the workout today. But, I ended up having a great swim and a great run.

I swam 50 X 25yd at 1.17 seconds per stroke. When I counted my strokes on the last two repetitions I was at about 20 - 21.

I ran for 45 minutes and felt nice and relaxed the whole time.

Zone 1 - Zone 2 Run

[Sunday, November 16, 2014]

It was around five degrees when I headed out for my workout this morning. I bundled up in multiple layers and was able to enjoy the workout.  I put my metronome in my chest pocket because my hand was getting cold holding it. That was very helpful. I think it warmed up (relatively speaking) while I completed the run.

I'm glad I got out early because I did get involved in things the rest of the day.

Stationary Bike #1

[Saturday, November 15, 2014]

The way things worked out today my only option was to ride my rollers. I did two 30 minute repeats and three 20 minute repeats.

The most challenging thing about the workout was that my hands would get completely numb. My crotch experienced a little numbness, too. I can't see how I could piece together more than two hours this way. It would be hard for me to have to do very many of these workouts. If I am stuck inside a lot I will have to come up with other options. It would probably make sense for me to get some type of resistance trainer.

Tempo Trainer Swim

[Friday, November 14, 2014]

I swam something like 50 X 25 yds. I had to start in the short lanes. I used 1.17 (or 1.16?) seconds per stroke. On my last repetition I took something like 20 or 21 strokes. I think that I've got a smoother more rhythmic stroke now and I'm on the right track to eliminate the dead spot at the front of my stroke and to improve my speed. I don't know if I will start up with the Masters swim next week or if I will wait one more week.
