Road Ride Zone 2
I did my ride in conjunction with picking up Eli, extending it along the Jewell / Alameda route. I have nothing significant to report about it. It's still fun to get in one of my workouts this way. The weather was very nice.

My legs felt tired as I headed out for this ride. I had to turn around at the earliest point I have ever turned around on this route. So, I was certain that the bike computer would show that this was the slowest I have ever ridden this route. On the way back home I was thinking about the fact that last week was the fastest I had ever ridden this route. When I got home my average speed was definitely NOT the slowest I have ever ridden this route. It wasn't as fast as last week, but it was faster than most weeks. read more ...

I swam 16 X 100yd. Then I ran for about 45 minutes.
I would have to say that I still felt a bit tired from Sunday.
We are still getting some days that are sunny and in the 70's and today was one of them. How lovely!

I can do it!
The weather was kind of grey, cool and rainy. But, I still had a great time doing my run. I ran for about 90 minutes. It feels like my fitness is coming back. Welcome home, fitness :-)
I missed my swim workout on Friday, so I didn't complete the entier Week 10 program. I want to see what I feel like when I have done the full week before I consider adding anything more. That means that I won't be starting to attend the Friday masters swim for at least two more workouts. The Week 11 program adds some intervals and I don't want to start those for a while either.

I rode for just over two hours. I rode through (or around?) the Mt. Carbon path and through Bear Creek Lake Park into Morrison onto the C470 trail up to 6th Avenue back to Alameda continuing to Jewell and then up Garrison to Alameda across to Kendrick back down home.
This was an enjoyable route with a good amount of variety. The weather was decent overall.

I neglected to take note that the pool was closing at 2pm today on account of a swim meet. So, I missed my chance to do my workout. While I don't like missing the workout, I don't think it's too problematic since it was just a swim workout and I don't actually start the 30 week program until January. I'm glad that I didn't miss a long bike or a long run.
Anyway, today I needed to migrate a client to a new server. I got right to work at 8 in the morning and worked on it until right around 2 pm. The migration basically went off without a hitch.

The weather forecast was unpromising for later in the day, so I decided to get in my workout this afternoon instead of when I was picking Eli up. It turns out that was a good idea. I rode for about 45 minutes. I followed the extended route I have used to pick up Eli. I still needed to add more distance to make the route last 45 minutes.

I biked for about 30 minutes and ran for 15 minutes. I rode one of the routes I have ridden many times before and this time my average speed was the best it has ever been. I ran somewhere around a 9:30 pace.
The weather was once again just perfect for the workout.

I swam 16 X 100. Then I ran for 45 minutes. The weather was beautiful.
I have moved up to the week 10 of the Just Finish Program. I'll see how that feels this week. I'd like to start with the Masters swim soon. I'll probably start out by going on Friday. I won't likely do it this week. Maybe I'll feel ready next week.

I ran for almost exactly 75 minutes. At times I felt like I was floating along. I was really enjoying the uphill sections of the run and I intentionally chose a route that would give me the maximum amount of climbing I could do during the workout.
As you could probably guess from the way I started the post the weather was amazing.
Yay life!
