2017 Week 10 Review

How the week went overall: It was good.

One thing that did not go according to plan: I did not create any videos for the Appendix section.

One thing that went well: I wrote the custom module and completed the slides for my OOP, Design Patterns and Drupal 8 presentation.

Plans for the coming week: Finish the Appendix section of "Mastering Drupal 8 Development."

Taking Account

I've been working on my 2015 Year in Review this morning. The information is available at I'm not going to repeat everything here.

I have been fighting a cold for many weeks. It's hanging on its last legs today. I think I will resume some exercise starting today.

Sunday Update

Yesterday I rode the stationary bike for a 30 minute strength workout. Today I ran 30 minutes on the treadmill doing a similar type of strength workout.

Today's update

I completed an interval bike / run combination on Wednesday. As planned, I rested yesterday. I did a Masters workout this morning.

Yesterday I was not exactly productive with my business. I suppose I accomplished some marketing (and maybe relationship building?). But, mostly I think I wasted a lot of time.

I'll reset myself and do better today.

I give thanks to the Universe for the abundance it provides me. I surrender and am open and ready to receive.

Bhavatu sabba mangalam - May all beings be happy

Ow, Ow, Ow

When I woke up this morning, I felt completely exhausted. I felt like somebody had been beating me up while I slept. My body hurt from my head down to my bottom. I don't know what (figuratively) hit me.

I had intended to do my workout today, but I've thought better of it. I think I need a break today. I'm bummed about missing a workout, but I think it's the smarter choice. Tomorrow is another day.

Busy day

I volunteered for National Public Land Day today in the morning. Then I worked on some of my gardening / landscaping projects while I waited for a friend to come over to help me start to put together Eli's new play set. We worked on the play set for about three hours until it started to get dark.

I've still got a good ways to go to finish putting together the set, so it looks like I'll be getting to work on that tomorrow morning and spending as much of the day as I can on it. Our goal is to have it ready for the break-the-fast gathering at our house next weekend.

I'm not sure what to say

I still had a bit of sore throat throughout the night and decided that I should probably see a doctor. When I woke up with an ear ache that sealed the deal.

I do have an ear infection and have been prescribed antibiotics. The doctor also encouraged me to let my body rest and just walk for exercise. When I reminded her that I had taken three weeks off (prior to resuming the workouts this past week), she said that I should at least consider doing truncated and / or fewer workouts each week for a while.

Where do I start?

I have three blogs that I am failing to update with any frequency: this one, which is my personal blog; my web development blog; the blog on my son's website. It's not that I am lacking material for any of those blogs. On the contrary, I feel that there is so much material. What I am lacking in is time. Or at least I believe I am lacking in time. But, I suppose that's a topic for a different blog entry (some day when I have the time).

Spammed into action

I received a notification from the website today that someone had left a comment. As it turns out, it was spam. But, it got me to sign in to the site. And I noticed that my last post was two months ago.

Eli turned four month old three days ago. Since I've got a site specifically for him, I'm not going to post more than that short update.

My son is here

On January 2, 2012 at 9AM Mountain Lana and I went to St. Joseph's hospital to see if our doctor could perform an external version. To get straight to the point, what ended up happening was that we delivered our son via Cesarean section at 12:44:21PM Mountain time that day.

I don't feel too bad about not having posted here on account of the fact that I have been busy (as though that's a great surprise with a new child and returning to my web development work) and I've been creating posts and adding pictures and videos to my son's website.
